Rihanna is famous for taking fashion risks. Most recently she wore a bag as a necklace. And her new Fenty collection for Puma—debuted at fall 2016 New York Fashion Week—and recent Manolo Blahnik collab are both totally fierce. But the one that really showed her fearlessness? The Swarovski crystal-embroidered see-through dress she wore to the 2014 CFDA Awards to accept her Fashion Icon Award. She wore the dress, custom designed by Adam Selman, with no bra underneath and a plain thong that matched her skin tone.
And that, she tells Vogue in their April issue (her fourth cover), is the one thing in life she regrets. “I just liked it better without the lines underneath. Could you imagine the CFDA dress with a bra? I would slice my throat. I already wanted to, for wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled. That’s the only regret I have in my life.”
She looked pretty killer anyway. But I guess we all have those coulda-woulda-shoulda fashion moments.
